It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernetta W. McGrady of Lexington, South Carolina, born in Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walter Wright and Dorothy Pierce Wright; her husband Harry Mathew McGrady "Shorty"; her siblings, James Leon Wright, Betty Rosie Sanders and Jimmy Roy Wright; and her granddaughter Laikin Danielle McGrady.
She is survived by: her son Stephen Michael McGrady (Laura); her stepson Sonny McGrady; her siblings, Kathy Wright Wilson (Ricky) and Jerry Walter Wright; her grandchildren, Justin Jon Michael McGrady (Heather), Casey McGrady, Kaitlyn McGrady and Connor McGrady; and her great grandchildren, Emerson Watts, River McGrady and Rozen McGrady.
She supported the Boys Farm in Newberry and Zoological Foundation locally.
