He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Joe Hickerson and Lillie Mae Branham Hickerson; and his sister Debbie Barber Arthmann. He is survived by: his wife Margie; his children, Melissa Taylor (AJ) and Steven Hickerson; his granddaughter Addison Taylor; his sister Vickie Stowe; and his sibling's children, Randy Barber and Kaitlin Stowe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
