He was predeceased by: his father James Stewart; and his sister Jackie Lee Smith. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Haynes Stewart; his children, Robin Willis (Scott) and Paul Randal Stewart Jr.; his granddaughters, Anna Hatcher (Austin), Mara McAlister (Drake) and Caroline Stewart (Easton Radford); and his great grandchildren, Emory, Rhett and Graham Hatcher.
