She was predeceased by: her parents, William Loyd and Mattie Lousie Gantt Waldrop; her husband Wallace Thurston Lyda; and her siblings, Melvin "Jack" Waldrop and Betty Nell Carver.
She is survived by: her daughters, Melody Young (Don), Vicki Smith (Brian) and Patti Simmons (Jim); and her grandchildren, Juston White, Erin Shealy, Summer Austin and Will Mays. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, extended family, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Liberty Mortuary (30 S Palmetto St, Liberty, SC 29657). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at the Rices Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (504 Rices Creek Church Rd, Liberty, SC 29657).
