She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph David Hayes and Annie Mae Meekins Hayes of Cerro Gordo; her husband Ralph Meares; and her daughter Nora Luann Meares. She is survived by: her sons, Ralph Timothy Meares (Diane) of Emerald Isle and Samuel Lane Meares; her grandchildren, Luke Lewis Meares (Audre) of Savannah, Georgia and Rachel Erin Jensen (Samuel) of Winston-Salem; and her siblings, Claude Hayes, Harold Hayes (Dolly) of Cerro Gordo and Sylvia Hayes of Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Presbyterian Women in care of the church.
