She was predeceased by: her parents, Clara Mae Wells (Vaden Flowers) and Campbell University (BA); her husband Louis R. Avant (Ray) of Georgetown, SC; and her siblings, Roy Parker of Herman Parker, S. G, Flowers, Catherine Elhard, Clairine Layburn and Mary McCarthy.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Rutledge (Steve) of Calabash, NC, Beth White (Larry) of Ocean Isle, NC and Louis R (Avant Jr.); and her grandchildren, Jayme Meetze (Amanda), Blair Meetze (Vicki), Rae Banks (Brad), Morgan Kruse (Ben) and Tyler Rutledge. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
