We announce the death of Thomas Libonati of Little River, South Carolina, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 26. Thomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his father Dennis John Libonati; and his grandparents, Augustus "Gus", Irene Shelcusky and Jesse Mae Hoffman. He is survived by: his mother Lisa Britt; his father-in-law Christopher Britt of Surfside Beach, SC; his stepgrandparents, Ray and Rita Britt of Murrells Inlet, SC; his stepbrother Alex Britt of Surfside Beach, SC.; his aunts and uncles, David Shelcusky (Diane) of Lavalette, NJ, Richard Shelcusky (Donna) of Calabash, NC, Victor Libonati (Linda) of Bartow, FL, Ed Hoffman (Elaine) of St. Petersburg, FL, Maureen "Reenie" Mason (Stephen) of Homosassa, FL and Denise Martin (Barry) of Decatur, TN.; his cousins, Jessica Shelcusky, Brady Shelcusky, Derek Shelcusky, Cody Shelcusky, Jeffrey Lee, Jason Barrett, Erica Hoffman and John Hoffman; and his close friends, Ryan, Evan Golden, Devin Greene and Tommy. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Carolina Forest Community Church (1381 Carolina Forest Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
