He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thompson; his sons, Curtis Thompson (Kendra) and Chris Thompson (JaQuasia); his siblings, Rex Thompson, Don Thompson and Judy Thompson; his stepchildren, Billy Barlow and Juliette Newman; his grandchildren, Kayce Layne and Magnolia Dorothea; and his stepgrandchildren, River and Rayni.
