She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Barden Housand and Amber Iris Long Housand; and her husband Albert Ernest McDowell. She is survived by: her children, Jerry McDowell of Conway, SC, Gary McDowell (Teresa) of Longs, SC, Genell McDowell (Marty Faile) of Loris, SC, Sarah Zelazo (Isaiah) of West Haven, CT and Lynn Beltran (Ken) of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Krista McDowell (A. J.), Jessica Suggs (Braxton), Christina Edge, Jasmine West, Angelina West (Mark), Barbie West (Tyler), Alexa Beltran (Dom), McKenna Beltran and Matthew Beltran; and her sister Brenda Housand Norris. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mrs. McDowell's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
