He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Earl Adams, Sr. and Louraine L. Russell Adams; his wife Betty Adams; and his siblings, Shirley Marlowe and Robert Adams.

He is survived by: his brothers, Rev. J. T. Adams (Mary) of Conway and Charles F. Adams (Linda) of Little River; and his aunts and uncles, Rev. Marshall Russell of Loris, Alton Russell (Joyce) of Raleigh, NC, Bertha Holt (Thomas) of Conway and Marie Dillard of Loris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
