She was predeceased by: her parents, Watson Smith Rankin and Margaret Emeline Jones Rankin. She is survived by: her husband Larry Stevens; her son John Watson Rankin; her grandchildren, Addison Rankin, Jacob DeFlieger and Matthew DeFlieger; and her sister Julia Rankin Hardwick (Dewayne).
In accordance with her wishes, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made through donations of clear backpacks and school supplies, continuing her lifelong commitment to children and learning.
