It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laphena Housand Hardee of Loris, South Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Cleveland Housand and Amanda Ruth Cox Housand; her husband John Jefferson Hardee, Sr.; and her son John Jefferson Hardee, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Danny J. Hardee (Roscia), C. Gene Hardee (Angela) and Kathy McDonald (Richard); her grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Hardee, Shannon Fraser (Ryan) and Michelle Weatherford (Britt); her great grandchildren, Anna Claire Weatherford and Kyleigh Atkinson (David); her great great grandchild Millie Wilds Atkinson; and her siblings, Elwood Housand and Ruthann Cook (Peter).
