He was predeceased by : his parents, Grady Wilson Hemingway and Ora Mae Hemingway Gore; and his son Grady Wilson Hemingway. He is survived by : his close friend Garnell Hemingway; and his children, Nelson Gore (Moniqe), Phil Hemingway (Bianca), Alan Hemingway, Shadonna Hemingway, Cornelius Hemingway (Teshawn), Coretta Hemingway and Sha Dresha Hemingway. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four sisters, and three brothers.
