She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Jesse Owens and Lillie Mae Hunter Owens; and her siblings, Vicki Ross and Johnny Owens. She is survived by: her husband Foy Wayne Thompson; her children, Sharon Smith (Chip) and Jason Thompson (Stephanie); her sisters, Sue Iriel and Cynthia "Cindy" Rabago (Emory); and her grandchildren, Braden Smith, Reagan Smith, Madison Thompson and Owen Thompson.
