He was predeceased by: his father Vernon Nichols; and his former wife Diana Young-Nichols. He is survived by: his mother Mary Jo Nichols; his wife Tricia Marie Nichols; his sons, Stephen Nichols (Tara Brazel) of Columbia and Richard Nichols (Amber O'Quinn-Nichols) of Elgin; his stepchildren, Arianna Marshall, Corrin Gibson and Brandon Butler; his children, John Samide, Desiree Samide and Malia Young-Williams; his grandchildren, Orion Nichols, Keith Nichols, Ethan Nichols, Zoey Nichols, Benjamin Marshall-Stephens and Tate Gibson; and his siblings, Rebecca Butler (Frankie), Rex Nichols (Sara) and Douglas Nichols.
