He is survived by: his wife Helen Williams Carter; his daughter Lauren Nicole Collins (Scot) of Indian Trail, NC; his stepson Grey Alan Hester (Terri) of Ashville, NC; his grandchildren, Brianne Collins and Braden Collins; his stepgrandchildren, Cabella Shelton (Sid) and Jazza Hester; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Layne Shelton, Emila Shelton and Casson Shelton; his half-brother Ronald Painter (Billie) of Charlotte, NC; and his sister Frankie Honeycutt (Jimmy) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
