She was predeceased by: her parents, Lemond Andrew and Lois Patterson Hardin; her son Fred "Kenny" Shipton; her grandson Ron Branham; and her brother Woodrow Hardin.

She is survived by: her children, Donald E. Shipton (Christina), Michael W. Shipton (Lola) and Kathryn "Bootsy" Branham (Sonny); her sister Lucille H. Falls; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Hoffman, David Shipton, Sandra Shipton and Chad Branham (Casey). She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren; 6 step- great-grandchildren; and 2 step great great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to KershawHealth Hospice or KershawHealth Oncology.

“Today David and I was talking about Fred and Katherine and our memories of time at Amarillo A.F.B.Texas and trying to remember the children's names. The only one that came to mind was a little Blonde headed Bootsy. Tonight I went in and did a search and sorry to fin Katherines obituary. I then remembered the boys names Kenny and Donny. I have pictures of Kenny riding on one of my girls trykes at Army Tech Village, Amarillo, Texas. Fred was David's NCOIC and a great friend. Betty Herman”
