She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Daniel Mahaffey and Arrie Meadow Kitchens Reynolds; her former husband Everee Bowers; her son Willis Clayton Bowers; and her sons-in-law, Clarence Atkinson and Wayne Huggins.

She is survived by: her husband Isaac "Ike" Ruby; and her children, Gary Leon Bowers (Rita), Elaine B. Huggins, Eugene Bowers, Patsy Barnes (Danny), Helen Hall (Cecil "Shorty), Janice "Jan" Atkinson, Donald Bowers (Allison) and Jeanette "Billie" Banks. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home (832 Ridgeway Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Gum Springs Holiness Church Cemetery.
