She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wylie Humphries and Shirley "Claudine" Beasley Humphries; her husband Carl "Gene" Strickland; her daughters, Kim Brown (Tom), Ashley Smith (Zach) and Kayla Bullock; her grandchildren, Tommy Brown (Angie), Alex Brown, Faith Brown, Savannah Smith and Zachary Smith, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Maisie and Skylar Brown; and her siblings, Karen Wilson, Helen Walters (Jimmy), Tommy Humphries (Janice), Carol Anderson (Donnie) and Brian Humphries (Esther). She was also cherished by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
