She was predeceased by: her parents, George A. Dease and Lola Estridge Dease; her husband Melvin E. Byrd; her brothers, Woodrow Dease, Wade Dease, William Dease, Rev. Kermit Dease and G. B. Dease; her son-in-law Pete Stokes; and her brother-in-law Robert Overstreet.
She is survived by: her children, Randy E. Byrd (Brenda) of Lugoff, SC and Lydia Stokes of Hartsville, SC; and her sisters, Genelle Herndon (Buddy) of Walterboro, SC and Della Overstreet of Camden, SC.. She is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Lugoff First Baptist Church (106 Longtown Rd, Lugoff, SC 29078).
