He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammie Cooke and Florence Alexander Cooke; his wife Wilhelmenia "Virginia" Kennedy Cooke; his sons, Jerome Butler and Stanley Cooke; and his siblings, Peter Cooke, Sammie D. Cooke, Louise Danner, Dorothy Nelson, Barbara Jean and Elizabeth Cooke.
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Lloyd (Reginald) of Elgin, SC; his sisters, Ruth Cooke of Norwalk, CT and Lottye Cooke of Camden, SC; his grandchildren, Staci Cooke of Charlotte, NC and William Lloyd of Charleston, SC; and his cousin Ronald Cooke. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
