He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Edward Thompson, Sr. of Blue Mountain and Myrtle Frederika Kameka Thompson of Seaford Town; and his son Joel Edward Thompson, III. He is survived by: his wife Jane Stogner Thompson; his daughter Jennifer Elaine Thompson (Gray); his son-in-law Joshua Christian Gray; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Laine Gray, Jacob Christian Gray and Kendall Grace Gray.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Manning First Baptist Church (49 W Boyce St, Manning, SC 29102).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to The Citadel Foundation : Our Mighty Citadel Strategic Plan, in honor of his service and lifelong commitment to helping others.
