With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Marie Sanders Bright Schmus (Manning, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 20, 2026 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Sanford Bright and James Schmus; her parents, Joseph F. Sanders, Jr. and Annie Marie Gregory Sanders; and her brother James Sanders.
She is survived by: her children, Martha Phillips (Doug) of North Carolina, Catherine Stone (Gina Derry) of Summerton, Brent Stone (Jeri) of Walterboro and Kimberly Crenshaw (David) of Minnesota; and her sister Juanita "Darlene" Kling (Charles) of Greenville, TN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
