He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hamby and Lillian Greer Hamby; and his siblings, Rev. Norman Luther Hamby and Ruth Hamby Dickerson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hamby; his sons, Tony Hamby (Liberty) and Bryan Hamby; and his grandchildren, Kristen Hamby and Joshua Hamby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mauldin Church of God.
