He was predeceased by: his brother Randall Weldy; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Weldy. He is survived by: his brother Thomas "Tom" Lloyd; his wife Judith "Judy" Gerdt Weldy; his children, Julie Fairchild (Chandler) of Greenville, SC, Sara Clark (Jared) of Watkinsville, GA and Jeff Weldy (Kelly) of Fountain Inn, SC; his grandchildren, Abigail, Riley, Avery, Stratton, Preston, Aubrey, Connor and Harper Peach; his siblings, Sherry Smith (Jim), Brent Weldy (Sarah) and Tom Weldy; and his sister-in-law Sandy Weldy.
