She was predeceased by: her parents, Alger Lowery Burroughs and Mary Elizabeth Ransom Burroughs; her former husband Donald Nelson, Sr.; her husband Sonny Gibson; her sisters, Elizabeth Foley, Emily Edwards, Sue Duffy and Mary Lee Burroughs; and her nephew Silas Cooley.
She is survived by: her children, Donald "Sonny" Nelson, Jr. (Nell), Jennifer Burger (Jason) and Shari Watson (Jim); her sisters, Mable Shelley (Bobby) and Dale Cooley (Neil); her grandchildren, Austin Binard, Lauren Binard and Ryan Burger; and her great grandchild Penny Fisher. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
