She was predeceased by: her parents, George Prescott and Rosa Lee Carter Holmes; her husband Elijah Tolbert; her son Mark Lee Tolbert; and her siblings, Richard Holmes, Willie Carter and Rosa Lee Holloway.
She is survived by: her children, Laura Ann Tolbert of Plum Branch, SC, Felicia Machell Tolbert of Plum Branch, SC, Renee Melinda Tolbert of Charlotte, NC and Charles David Talbert (Lori) of Suffolk, VA; and her sisters, Marie Corley (Ernest) of North Augusta, SC and Marion Hill (William) of Plum Branch, SC. She is also survived by three grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Andrew Wardlaw Funeral Home (610 W Gold St, McCormick, SC 29835). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Mt Moriah Baptist Church (2946 Key Rd, Plum Branch, SC 29845). A committal service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
