He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Arthur Hemstrought and Annie Mildred Uptegrove Hemstrought; and his brothers, Richard Hemstrought and Johnny Hemstrought. He is survived by: his wife Willie Mae "Billie" Moore Hemstrought; and his children, Lisa Hill (Chris) of Moncks Corner, Denise Stone (Mike) of Moncks Corner, Katie Grooms (Scott) of Eadytown and David Hemstrought (Vanessa) of Moncks Corner. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dial-Murray Funeral Home (300 W Main St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (112 E Main St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A burial was held on Sunday, April 26th 2026 at the St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery (1142 Sugar Hill Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461).
