He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Whitted; his parents, Frank Whitted and Mary Louise Whitted; and his siblings, Frank Whitted, Jr., Charles Whitted and Ida Whitted.
He is survived by: his son Ernest L. Whitted Jr. (Esther); and his siblings, Mamie Bell and Alvester Whitted.
