He was predeceased by: his children, Laura Dawnelle Simmons McClam and Jeffrey Fernwell Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Ferndena W. Simmons; his daughter Michelle Weathers; and his siblings, Leon Simmons (Brenda), Mary Simmons Ford (Lavone), Alma Liferidge and Octhetis Simmons Clouden (Nimrod Anthony, Jr.). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
