He was predeceased by: his parents, Maner Pearlstine "Pearl" Blackwood, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ashley Blackwood; his wife Elvenia "Penny" Grooms Blackwood; his grandson Jamie Blackwood; and his brothers, Lawrence Edward Blackwood and Maner Pearlstine "Buddy" Blackwood, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, James Calvin Blackwood (Donna), Marty Grooms, Brenda Grooms, Shirley Dangerfield and Theresa Clark; and his brother Rubin Blackwood of Barnwell. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
