Though Jimmy may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Chavis; his children, Lakeisha C. Taylor of Jimmy, Chavis Jr. and Renee "Nay" Chavis; and his siblings, James Chavis, Sr., Lucinda "DoraLee" Simmons, Betty Jones (Herbert), Doris Reid, Willie Gene Chavis (Minnie) and Edward "Deak" Chavis (Cheryl).
Viewing was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rock Hill Baptist Church (975 S Live Oak Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church (401 Stoney Landing Rd, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A burial was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (975 S Live Oak Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461).
