He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Townsend and Maggie Lynch Brown Townsend. He is survived by: his brother Mike Brown; his goddaughter Maggie Gass; and his nephews, Kevin Brown (Robin) and Chad Brown.
Tragically, in the early morning hours of September 28th, he suffered a fatal cardiac event within the criteria established by the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation for a Line of Duty Death.
