He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Carvin and Rose Mary Welch (Chinners); and his sister Hazel Welch. He is survived by: his former spouse Vonnie Faye (Jordan); his wife Rhoda Welch; his children, Renee Rusler (Tony) of Lebanon, Greg Welch (Elizabeth) of Lebanon, Vincent Cox (Ann) of Trevilians, VA and Crystal Cox of Summerville; his siblings, Catherine Earley (Walter) of Sandridge, Peggy Baker (Ronnie) of Ladson, Nancy Mullins (David) of Pimlico, Laura Carpenter (Sean) of Goose Creek and Henry Welch (Susan) of Cordesville; his grandchildren, Zachary Rusler, Faith Sillanpaa (Christian) and Toby Cox-Carpenter (Kurtis); his great grandchildren, Everleigh Sillanpaa and Wrenleigh Sillanpaa; and also Rhoda Ann (Myers Cox).
Visitation was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dial-Murray Funeral Home (300 W Main St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Methodist Church of Lebanon (1184 Lebanon Rd, Ridgeville, SC 29472). A burial was held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at the Rudd Branch Cemetery (1313 Lebanon Rd, Ridgeville, SC 29472).
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests memorials be made to the Rudd Branch Cemetery, 1222 Whiitehouse Rd., Summerville, SC 29486.
