He was predeceased by: his parents, Tilden "Bud" Chipman and Rosella Washum Chipman; his wife Myrna Wrenn Chipman; and his siblings, Alma Rosalind Chipman Elliott, Edward "Peck" Chipman, Gene Chipman, Charles Chipman, Larry Chipman, Bobby Chipman and Tilden Chipman, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Angie Barbato of Wilmington, Jennifer C. Gaskins (Ron) of Macedonia and Chippy Chipman (Chelsie) of Moncks Corner; his brother Rev. Howard Chipman (Rachael) of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Adam, Jason, Landen, Cameron, Saylor, Lynlee, Ellie, Sutton, Hayley (Hunter), Gavin and Logan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
