He is survived by: his wife Frances Scofield; his children, Karen Chiles (Gene) of Suffolk, VA and Robert M. Johnston (Cheryl) of Moncks Corner, SC; his grandchildren, Janet, Adam, Marty, Brittany, Amber and Chelsea; his great grandchildren, Marissa, Nathan, Anna, Ella, Mckenzie, Tony, Bruce, Ariana and Annabelle; and his great great grandchildren, Madalyn, Joshua and Rylan.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens (3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414).
