She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Clarence Mims and Catherine Roberta Sweatman Mims; her siblings, Mary M. Hill, Clarence Aimar Mims and Harry Sinclair Mims; her half-sister Helen Dixon; her stepgrandson Chuck McNeill, Jr.; and her husband Joseph R. Mitchum.

She is survived by: her children, Janet Smith (Allen) of Moncks Corner and Stephen Mitchum (Terese') of Cape May, NJ; her stepson Chuck McNeill of Moncks Corner; her siblings, Margaret Fletcher (Billy) of Pinopolis, Watson Mims (Patsy) of Oakley, George Mims (Patricia) of St. George and Donald Mims (Carolyn) of Myrtle Beach; her cousin Harriet Charles of North Charleston; her grandchildren, Catrina Mitchum (Andrew Clopton), Stephen Mitchum, Jr., Terese Brennan (David), Lucas Mitchum, Vincent Mitchum, Alexander Mitchum, Lillia Mitchum, RobiAnn Kirven (Ronald), RandiJo Eadie (Hunter), Ryan Smith and Carmen Moody (Nate); and her great grandchildren, Gwen, Kiri, Presley, Charlie and Ruby. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
