We are sad to announce that on June 25, 2023, William A. Smyth Jr. of Monetta, South Carolina, born in San Diego, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, William A., Sr. and Marjorie McCann Smyth; and his wife Ann Cato Smyth. He is survived by : his cousin Ron Horne, Jr.; and his caregivers, Harry and Joann Williams.

“Bill was a founding member of the Ridge Amateur Radio Club which I co-founded with another Bill, (Bill Robison W4GIV now SK as well). Bill and I struck up a friendship around "Ham" radio and other things technical. Bill had many experiences to share and it was amazing all of the knowledge he had amassed over the years. I have been please to make the acquaintance of his cousin Mr. Ron Horne while assisting with some Ham Radio estate items of Bill's. He will truly be missed! Rodger N4NRW”

Bill was a long time amateur radio operator. He was very well liked in the amateur radio community. It was through our mutual hobby that I came to know him so long ago.
