She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Barnett and Grace Scott Barnett; and her son Scottie Owens. She is survived by : her husband Rick Carruth; her sons, Buddy Owens of Chesnee, John Owens (Shelly) of Moore and Jamie Owens of Enoree; her stepdaughters, Leslie Bishop of Moore and Lauren Cruz of Inman; and her sister Louise Hill of Inman. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
