He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Hess; his parents-in-law, Don W. and Hilda Hess; and his siblings, Jewell, Margaret, Peggy, Mary, G. W. and Edward.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Goolsby (Amy) of Gulfport, MS and Alyssa Goolsby Hunter (Rob) of Minneapolis, MN; his daughter-in-law Jodi Kennemer (Michael) of New Hope, AL; his granddaughter Abigail Goolsby of New Hope, AL; his sisters, Carol Lewis (Ray) of Helena, AL and Linda Walker (Bill) of Leroy, AL; and his sisters-in-law, Maralee Morris of Ft Collins, CO, Lynette Mott of Arvada, CO and Beryl Hess of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Joy Lutheran Church (3980 Moore Duncan Hwy, Moore, SC 29369).
