She was predeceased by: her father Johnny Ray Whisnant. She is survived by: her mother Alma Jolly Eaker of Blacksburg, SC; her husband Carson Wilson DeShields; her sons, Troy DeShields (Kathy) and John DeShields (Tammy); her grandchildren, Tyler DeShields (Leah), Skyler DeShields (Courtney), Gabby Seay (Austin), Camdyn DeShields and Grayson DeShields; her great grandchildren, Emersyn, Elsie Seay, Magnolia DeShields and Layton DeShields; and her sisters, Sylvia Vassey and Nancy Greer.
