He is survived by: his spouse Gail Castles Phillips Zidlick; his brother William Howell Zidlick; his children, Karen Gail Zidlick, John Witherspoon Zidlick and Matthew Howell Zidlick (Lora Jeffrey Zidlick); and his granddaughter Lela Gale Zidlick (River).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Henry Stuhr, Inc. - Downtown Chapel (232 Calhoun St, Charleston, SC 29401). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Donations can be made in Bert's memory to St. Mark's Lutheran Church on the Isle of Palms, S.C., or to the Charleston Animal Society.
