She was predeceased by: her father Dewey Cowart. She is survived by: her mother Patsy Thurman Cowart of Mount Pleasant, SC; her husband Fleming Smith (David) of Mount Pleasant, SC; her siblings, Patti Spitz (Pete) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Dewey Cowart (Lee); her siblings' children, Phillip Spitz (Taylor) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Michael Spitz (Frani) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Kristyn Coleman (Clayton) of Charleston, SC and Dr. Ashlyn Spitz of Mount Pleasant, SC; and her stepsons, Mark E. Smith (Tania) and Matthew R. Smith. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren, and six great nephews and nieces.
