He is survived by: his children, Whit Whitmer (Kelly) of Charlotte, NC and Barbara Connell (Rod) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Mary Keller Costa (JD), Barnes Connell (Whaley), Heath Zimmerman (Andy) and Halley Autry (Byron) of Charleston, SC.; his great grandchildren, Virginia, Artsy, Bee, Whit, William, Rosie, Gigi, Annie and Thomas; and his caregivers, Carolyn, Marilyn and Gerri.
