He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Meis and Seraphine Stoecklein Meis. He is survived by: his wife Carole Curran Meis; his sons, Christopher T. Meis (Kathy) of Charleston, SC, Timothy A. Meis (Caitlyn) of Mendham, NJ and Matthew D. Meis (Monika) of Mount Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Katherine, Caroline, Colin, Grace, Aisling, Elizabeth, Quentin, Lila, Tess, Niamh, Celia, Julian and Kieran; and his siblings, Arlin "Chuck" Meis, Julie Beutler, Dianne Klaus-Meis and Dolores Mussatto.
