With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elenora Simon McGhee (Mount Pleasant, South Carolina), who passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Eugene McGhee; her parents, John Gilliard, Sr. and Lucille Gilliard; and her grandson Tony Jamal Nesbitt. She is survived by : her grandsons, Anton Nesbitt, James Kilson, Jr., Terrence Jamal Kilson, Craig Kilson and Anthony Gilliard; her brothers, David Gilliard, Eugene Gilliard and Leon Gilliard; and her aunt Victoria Gilliard. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

“Elenora Simon McGhee - may she rest in eternal peace. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. We had many discussions about our family history in Charleston SC and believed we were related. Her father and my mother had the same last name and had family history on St Simon's Island. When my maternal aunt passed, Eleanor visited her dad who told her he went to his cousin's funeral...the name and funeral location was that of my aunt. That was enough for us to call ourselves 'cousins'”
