He was predeceased by: his wife Corlys Palmer Devenny. He is survived by: his children, Renee D. May, Teresa D. Holder, Michele D. Lewis, Denise D. Martin, Jan Devenny and James Devenny (Jay); and his children-in-law, Kerry T. May, Stephen C. Lewis, Andrew D. Martin and Linda Balzac Devenny. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Church or Metanoia, a nonprofit community development corporation in North Charleston very dear to his heart.
