She was predeceased by : her parents, Joel Townsend and Elizabeth Barbour Townsend; her husband William S. Clarke, Jr.; and her daughter Lee Ann Clarke. She is survived by : her children, Carol Clarke Bourque (Dave) of Isle and William Sims Clarke III of Sumter, SC; and her grandchildren, David Clarke Bourque and Mary-Townsend Bourque.

Memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society.
