He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Young Pye; and his parents, George Pye and Celia Whetsell Pye. He is survived by: his children, Debra Pye Taylor (Pete) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Lisa Pye Quick (Clyde) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, John Rodney Pye (Janice) of North Charleston, SC and Joseph Robert Pye (Patsy) of Meggett, SC; his grandchildren, Janet Dangerfield, Rhonda Kennan, Patrick Pye and Jamie Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Katlyn, Grace, Ben, Lauren, Anna Margaret, Sarah Catherine and James.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Toad, North Charleston, SC 29418.
