He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman Dieter and Caroline Lucas Dieter; and his siblings, Robert Dieter, George Dieter and Caroline Simons.
He is survived by: his significant other Margaret; his sons, Dr. Jonathan L. Dieter, Jr. (Jan) of Conway and Tucker Dieter (Kimmie) of Pawleys Island; his grandchildren, Lucas Adams (Reid) of Charleston, Caroline Bush (Dan) of Atlanta, GA, Will Dieter (Lauren) of Pawleys Island and Tuck Dieter (Taylor) of Lexington; and his sister-in-law Marian Dieter of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
